Out-and-back from the boat ramp; turnaround point depends on lake level + how far up-canyon you want to go. Glassy mornings; afternoon thunder-cell wind in summer can build fast — start early. Coconino National Forest day-use fee at the ramp; check forest closures (fire restrictions limit access in summer dry years). Cooler air than the valley — bring a layer for the post-paddle breakfast tailgate.
