Race director notes
Iconic 15-mile flatwater run from below Glen Canyon Dam to Lee's Ferry on the Colorado River. Dam-released water — cold (50°F year-round) and clear. Only paddleable flatwater stretch of the Colorado in Arizona; Marble Canyon's whitewater starts at Lee's Ferry. Glassy mornings; afternoon canyon winds can build. NPS day-use fee at Lee's Ferry takeout. Shuttle is required — most paddlers run with a backhauler or pre-position vehicles.
