Dear future partner,

I started Arizona SUP Academy because I'm a parent of youth who'd rather scroll than move. I'm guessing you know that one too — yours, your neighbor's, the ones on your team's LinkedIn pages. We don't have a screen-time problem. We have an outdoor-on-purpose problem.

Phoenix has one of the most accessible stand-up paddle venues in the country sitting in the middle of downtown Tempe, and zero structured youth programs to put athletes on it. I built this thing — instructors, curriculum, badges, the digital surfaces — to fix that, exactly that. We start Spring 2027.

I am writing to you because I want a small number of right partners — not a long sponsor list. Five Founding Partners. The brands my families already buy, the local Phoenix institutions parents already love, the gear companies whose boards we already paddle on. Zero sponsor money pays coach salaries — coaching is funded entirely by parent tuition, that's a separate closed loop. We publish a 1-page sponsor ledger every season with the actual line-item receipts.
Is this tax-deductible?+
Arizona SUP Academy LLC is a for-profit youth athletics business — straight sponsorships are typically treated as marketing/advertising expenses (deductible as a business expense, not as a charitable donation). The Scholarship-an-Athlete tier flows through a 501(c)(3) youth-sports partner we'll connect you with for full charitable deduction. Talk to your accountant; we'll provide whatever paperwork your filing needs.
How do payments work?+
Invoice on confirmation, due net-30. ACH preferred, card accepted (3% pass-through fee). Multi-season or multi-year? We'll structure quarterly invoicing on request. Scholarship-an-Athlete is paid online via Stripe at sponsorship time.
How long is a sponsorship term?+
Lighthouse + Flagship are 12-month (4 seasons) commitments. Captain (Race Day), Crew, and Tide are per-season. À la carte items are per-window. Most partners renew — we treat renewal as a conversation, not an auto-bill.
Do you offer multi-year discounts?+
Yes. 2-year locks save 10%, 3-year locks save 15%. We'll work backward from your budget if that's easier — tell us what you can spend, we'll build the package.
Who's the audience? Is this the right fit for my brand?+
Phoenix-area paddle families. Median household income is well above Tempe-county median — these are families who can write a $895 enrollment check four times a year. Athletes ages 12–18. High parent engagement (the carpool feature alone gets daily use). Best fit: family-aligned brands (gear, apparel, food/bev, real estate, financial services, healthcare), SUP-adjacent gear (Werner, Black Project, Red Paddle, Starboard), local Phoenix/Tempe businesses, and anything with a "youth outside, screens down" thesis.
Can I customize a package?+
Always. The tiers above are starting points — most real deals end up being a tier + 1-2 à la carte add-ons + a scholarship gift. Talk to us before signing anything; we'd rather build something that fits than upsell a tier you don't need.
What about brand standards and content rights?+
You provide a brand kit (logo lockups, colors, do's/don'ts) and we'll send proofs of every placement before going live. Photo content from our practices/races is yours to use in your own marketing during the sponsorship term, with photo-credit + tag back to us. We do not release any athlete-identifiable content without parent consent on file.
What if I just want to support but stay anonymous?+
Welcome. Scholarship-an-Athlete supports "no name, no logo" — just an athlete on a board. We'll keep your contribution in the audited ledger and report aggregate impact at season's end.
